Fun, weird, helpful, or little known fact
Like other members of its genus, this orchid has no chlorophyll, so it obtains its nutrients not from photosynthesis but through mycorrhizal fungi. It is found in our aspen groves and spruce-fir forests. This nifty orchid must be viewed up close to be appreciated!
